BK FIPP UNY STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN FESTIVAL CONVOCATION (FESCON) OF UNIVERSITY SULTAN AZLAN SHAH

Thirteen BK FIPP UNY students participated in Istiadat Konvokesyen activities in the framework of the FESTIVAL CONVOCATION (FESCON) at University Sultan Azlan Shah. Istiadat Konvokesyen was held at Dewan Jubli Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Malaysia, on December 9, 2023.

The Convocation ceremony activity is one of a series of Convocation Festival (FESKON) events and the Kuala Kangsar Festival, which lasts for 4 days starting from December 7 - 10, 2023. The event was attended by the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzudin Shah, to give special appreciation to the graduates who have achieved. Convocation ceremony was complemented by the performance of Coir (choir), Nasheed, and Gamelan, to accompany the activities to add to the atmosphere and make it more solemn. In addition, on December 8, 2023, thirteen BK FIPP UNY students were given the opportunity to perform traditional Indonesian dances at the Cultural Arts Night. The performance was witnessed by the general public, especially Kuala Kangsar residents.

According to Fathin, one of the BK FIPP UNY students, the series of activities added a very memorable experience because they could witness firsthand the Convocation ceremony attended by the Sultan of Perak, because in Indonesia it is very rare for graduation ceremonies or graduation to be attended by state officials. "Besides that, participating directly in the Cultural Arts Night event is also one of the things that is difficult to move on because it is exciting and proud to be able to introduce our culture to them," she said.

According to Ocha, she was very grateful to be given the opportunity to attend the graduation ceremony which was attended by the Sultan of Perak. I got to know how the graduation process was, could see the Sultan of Perak directly, and after that we went to the food festival which was still in the graduation series.

Ocha hopes that the student exchange program and cooperation between countries will continue so that UNY becomes one of the bridges to introduce Indonesian culture to foreign countries and learn the culture of other countries. (Ocha/rit)
