INAUGURATION OF THE FACULTY OF EDUCATION AND PSYCHOLOGY 2024: OPENING A NEW CHAPTER OF STUDENT LEADERSHIP

Yogyakarta, January 22nd, 2024 – Today, the students of the Faculty of Education and Psychology of Yogyakarta State University (FIPP UNY) held the inauguration of the FIPP UNY Student Organization (ORMAWA) in 2024. The event occurred at Moh Amien FIPP UNY from 15.00 WIB until the end.

The inauguration was attended by faculty officials, including the Dean of FIPP, the Vice Dean for Academic, Student Affairs, and Alumni, as well as the Vice Dean for Planning, Finance, General Affairs, and Resources. In addition, the Heads of Departments of Educational Administration (AP), Non-formal Education (PLS), Special Education (PLB), Educational Psychology and Guidance (PPB), Curriculum and Educational Technology (KTP), Primary School Education (PSD), Philosophy and Sociology Education (FSP), Early Childhood Education (PAUD), Psychology (Psikologi). The student's companion and student affairs staff from various departments also participated in this event. 

The series of events began with remarks from the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, who said that student organizations are the first step toward real leadership. He emphasized that many of the country’s current leaders started from leadership experiences in student organizations during their time in college. On this occasion, the Vice Dean also provided inspiration about the challenges of dividing time as a student who is active in the organization. 

The event then continued with the inauguration procession led directly by the Dean of FIPP UNY. The inauguration marked the beginning of a new journey for the management of the Student Organization (ORMAWA) FIPP UNY for the 2024 period. The Dean gave a mandate to the new management to carry out their duties and responsibilities with dedication and improve the quality of student life in the faculty environment.

In the material presented, the Vice Dean of Student Affairs reiterated the importance of the role of student organizations in shaping quality leadership. He hopes that in the future, ORMAWA FIPP UNY can become a pioneer of leadership in the future and be able to make a positive contribution to the development of the faculty.

The event was closed with a prayer together and a photo session with the newly appointed ORMAWA administrators. The spirit of leadership and organizational spirit is expected to continue to burn, inspire, and create a conducive environment for the development of FIPP UNY students.
