VICE DEAN OF RKSIU FIPP UNY MOTIVATES MTA SURAKARTA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO ATTEND UNIVERSITY

Vice Dean of Research, Cooperation, Information Systems and Business FIPP UNY, Dr. Siti Rohmah Nurhayati, M.Si appreciates MTA High School Students who have imaginary what they want to be in the future, after graduated from high school. This was conveyed by Dr. Siti Rohmah when greeting the presence of Teachers and Students of SMA MTA Surakarta who visited the Faculty of Education and Psychology UNY, on Wednesday, (13/12) in Abdullah Sigit Room FIPP UNY.

Dr. Siti further elaborated that by having a clear vision of one's future aspirations, immediate preparations should be made to position oneself as a prospective student. Dr. Siti Rohmah explained the profile of UNY which consists of 8 faculties including the Faculty of Language, Literature and Culture, Faculty of Mathematics and Science, Faculty of Social, Law and Political Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences, Vocational Faculty, Graduate School and Faculty of Education and Psychology.

Regarding the Faculty of Education and Psychology, Dr. Siti Rohmah explained the profile of the study program and the profile of its graduates. "If you want to become a management of educational institutions, you can join the Education Management study program, if you are interested in the world of non-formal school education or community empowerment, you can join the Non-formal School Education study program, if you want to become a special education teacher, you can enter the Special Education Study Program, if you want to become a counseling teacher, you can enter the counseling study program, If you want to become an educational technology officer, you can join the Educational Technology study program, if you want to become an elementary school teacher, you can join the elementary school teacher education study program, if you want to become an early childhood teacher, you can join the Early Childhood Teacher Education study program, and if you want to become a psychology assistant, consultant, researcher, writer and even influencer, you can join the Psychology study program," she stated.

In addition, Dr. Siti Rohmah also explained activities for student development through student organizations, as well as facilities at UNY and FIPP. Another thing such as the entry path of UNY was also conveyed. "UNY has many pathways for new student admission programs, starting from Achievement-Based National Selection, Test-Based National Selection, Independent Selection. For UNY Independent Selection consists of various pathways such as academic achievement pathways, Talent Scouting Superior Achievement, Superior Sports Achievement, Campus CBT, Domicile CBT, UTBK SNBT Score and Cooperation", she explained.

The students from SMA MTA Surakarta were led by Mr. Bahrudin Ahmad, S.Sos. In his speech, he conveyed the purpose of their visit to introduce students to the world of campus. "If you just know in the cyberspace, you might already know a bit, we come to campus to get closer, get to know more, and in the end we will choose a study program according to the talents and interests of the students. There were 138 students from science and social studies programs from various regions," he said. (rit)
