The Faculty of Education at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (FIP UNY) officially welcomed an academic visit and inaugurated a strategic partnership with Silpakorn University, Thailand. This important cross-border meeting between educational institutions took place in the Aula of the Dakir Building (Integrated Laboratory for Elementary and Early Childhood Education) at FIP UNY on Tuesday (26/5/2026), starting at 1:30 PM WIB.
The delegation from Silpakorn University, Thailand, was personally received by the Dean of FIP UNY, Prof. Dr. Nurtanio Agus Purwanto, M.Pd. Accompanying him during the welcoming procession were the vice deans and heads of departments within FIP UNY.
The meeting was held to strengthen academic relations between the two universities and open up opportunities for global collaboration in education. The core activities featured scientific presentations and campus profile introductions from both parties. Through these sessions, FIP UNY and Silpakorn University exchanged information regarding flagship programs, learning innovations, and potential joint research developments.
As a concrete sign of commitment from this meeting, both parties participated in the signing ceremony of the partnership documents. This collaboration is expected to initiate various future joint programs, such as student exchanges, collaborative faculty research, and international-scale joint scientific publications.
The welcoming event proceeded smoothly and solemnly. The activities then concluded with a group photo session and an exchange of tokens of appreciation, symbolizing the close bonds of friendship between FIP UNY and Silpakorn University, Thailand.
